For too long, the Big Spring School District operated under the mindset of “because we’ve always done it that way.” Decisions were repeated year after year without questioning if there was a more cost-effective, efficient, or modern approach available. No one stopped to ask, “Is this still the best way to serve our students and taxpayers?” That is—until now. Julie has refused to be a rubber stamp for outdated processes and unchecked spending. She’s challenged this complacency at every turn, demanding that the district re-evaluate long-standing practices, explore smarter alternatives, and adopt a mindset of continuous improvement. Her efforts are helping to break the cycle of doing things simply out of habit—and bringing real, lasting change to Big Spring
